RoRo Shipping Guide: Tianjin to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

We move hundreds of cars, pickup trucks and heavy equipment units from Tianjin to Jeddah every month. Here is what you need to know:

Transit time and schedule

RoRo vessels from Tianjin to Jeddah sail every 7–10 days, and the transit time is 18–22 days door to port. There are no long transshipment stops, which means your cargo arrives faster and with less chance of damage.

Who is RoRo best for?

RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) is the cheapest and easiest option if your vehicle drives under its own power: you just drive it onto the ship at Tianjin, and drive it off at Jeddah. No crating, no lashing, no extra handling. It costs 25–30% less than container shipping for cars and running trucks.

Oversize cargo

We regularly ship HOWO dump trucks, wheel loaders, and construction machinery that is too tall for containers. As long as your equipment is under 3.5m wide and 4.5m tall, we can book it on RoRo. We will measure your cargo and confirm the dimensions with the shipping line before booking, so there are no surprises at the port.

Saudi customs requirements

We provide all documentation needed for SASO conformity assessment for your vehicles. You will also need your Saudi import license — we can connect you with our local clearance partner in Jeddah if you do not have one.
